Religion is collective, made of dogma that unites and also separates. Dogmas create divisions, outlining who belongs and who doesn't, fostering exclusion.
Spirituality is not knowledge that brainwashes you and tells you how to think, behave, and feel.
Spirituality is something that everyone can experience.
However, the way it feels and means can differ for each person.
And while we all walk different paths in life, these paths are part of a larger journey we're all on together.
It's about enquiring about the meaning of life and striving to grow as a human being.
It is an inner journey that inevitably has consequences on the outside world and influences our decisions and relationships.
I had to practice a lot to breathe continuously with a deep belly breath. I tried various approaches before finally focusing on one. Eventually, the practice became so ingrained that I didn't have to schedule specific times or pay attention.
It became an embodied practice.
Spiritual practices all work the same way. You have to repeat them. You take them with you until you realize they are always with you.

The one thing that is under your control and that reduces stimuli beyond sleep is silence.
Begin and end your day with a moment of silence and meditate. My preferred one comes from The Presence Process, a 15-minute meditation. It is a mantra-based meditation.
Nearly all of us have a deficiency of sattva in our lives: we need more simplicity, lightness, purity, and clarity.

Here is one yoga kriya to open your heart center:
Posture: Sit on your heels with a straight spine.
Mudra: Lock your hands together so that each pulls on the other, with one thumb straight up and the other straight down. Your hands join together in front of your heart center, the pivot point.
Breath and Movement: On the inhale, raise your left elbow and, keeping a straight line between your elbows, lower your right elbow. On the exhale, raise your right elbow and drop your left elbow. As you fall into a rhythm, quicken the pace.
Take time for long, mindful walks in nature.
Nature has a way of recharging our spirits and reminding us of the interconnectedness of all things.
And this is a great way to disconnect from digital devices.
